CENTAURI Safety Precautions for Deployment

Modified on Wed, 13 Sep, 2023 at 3:29 PM

The following steps should be taken to reduce the risk of exposure to CENTAURI's lasers, with special attention paid during the installation and deployment of CENTAURI devices.

  1. Make sure that the line of sight between CENTAURI devices is clear and that there is no risk of any person blocking or otherwise being exposed to the lasers in the high power zone.
  2. Make sure there are no objects in the path of the laser or within the laser hazard zone that could reflect or deflect the laser, thereby risking exposing anyone to the reflected laser light.
  3. Always install CENTAURI in a secure/restricted/controlled area, which prevents access by unauthorized persons.
  4. Make sure that the laser hazard warning stickers on the device are clearly visible.
    • Do not place CENTAURI inside any other enclosure;
    • Do not cover the device with fabric or other materials;
    • Do not remove the warning stickers from the device.
  5. Do not use binoculars or aiming telescopes to view the direct or reflected beams emitted by the device.
  6. We recommend installing additional hazard warning signs in visible locations near the device. For example, at the bottom of a lattice tower, if CENTAURI is mounted above eye level on the tower.
  7. We recommend that operators wear laser safety glasses during the installation of CENTAURI.
