Using accurate link distances during CENTAURI deployments

Using accurate link distances during CENTAURI deployments is very important!

When using the on-device application for alignment (the DMD app), there are prompts to enter the distance of the link being established between two CENTAURI devices.

While it may not be possible to be completely accurate down to the last millimetre, we suggest that in order to be safe, distances entered should be accurate to within +/- 10m (30ft) for short-distance links (~300m/980ft) and +/- 50m (150ft) for longer links of up to ~2km or more.

FAILURE TO ENTER A REASONABLY ACCURATE LINK DISTANCE MAY RESULT IN DAMAGE TO THE OPTICAL COMPONENTS IN THE DEVICE! IF YOU ARE UNCERTAIN OF THE DISTANCE PLEASE STOP THE ALIGNMENT PROCESS, VERIFY THE CORRECT DISTANCE AND TRY AGAIN.
